Welcome !
I am a lecturer and research assistant at the University of Geneva in the Department of Political Science and International Relations (SPERI) and at the Global Studies Institute. I am studying and working in humanitarian aid, disaster governance, post-disaster management and environmental policies, especially in conflict-affected and vulnerable settings.
My researches focuses on non-state actors in disaster management. More specifically, I study how NSAs, such as private foundations, justify their interventions following natural disasters and how disaster management becomes a political and economic issue.
I am particularly interested in interview-based, participatory methods, discourse analysis and mixed methods. For my research I conducted close to 100 interviews with IO officials, NGOs, community members, politicians, civilian experts and aid beneficiaries from Africa, Asia and elsewhere. I have also a particular interest in researching the effects and challenges of climate change, crises, and disaster response and disaster risk reduction (DRR).
Occasionally, I work with think tanks and civil society organisations on humanitarian aid, post-disaster development and resilience.
I intend to contribute empirically, theoretically, and methodologically to the study of disaster governance and environmental security.
